In their own words
What is All-on-6?
All-on-6 replaces every tooth in an arch with a fixed bridge carried by six implants instead of four. The two extra implants sit toward the back of the jaw, sharing bite forces across more anchor points, which allows a longer bridge with more chewing teeth, and builds reserve strength into the whole arch.
It isn't automatically better than All-on-4, it needs more bone, particularly at the back of the jaw. Your CBCT scan makes the choice objective: where the bone supports six, the extra implants buy strength and longevity; where it doesn't, All-on-4's angled implants are the smarter engineering.

All-on-6 Dental Implants, step by step
One surgery day, six anchors, final bridge at 3–6 months.
When All-on-6 earns its place
If you brux at night or have a naturally powerful bite, distributing that force across six implants protects both the bridge and the implants for the long run.
Grinders & clenchers
If you brux at night or have a naturally powerful bite, distributing that force across six implants protects both the bridge and the implants for the long run.
More back teeth
Four implants typically carry 10–12 teeth; six can support a fuller arch with more molars, meaningful if you want maximum chewing surface.
Scan-approved cases
Six implants need sound bone at the back of the jaw. When your CBCT confirms it, the extra anchors are an investment in redundancy.
Younger full-arch patients
Losing a full arch at 45 means the bridge must last decades. Extra load-sharing now is insurance against the years ahead.

All-on-6 Dental Implants FAQs
Your CBCT scan decides it, not preference: bone volume at the back of the jaw, your bite force, grinding habits and how many teeth you want restored. We show you the scan and walk through the reasoning, the recommendation is engineering, not upselling.
Marginally longer in the chair, but it's still one planned surgical visit, and recovery is essentially the same, most patients describe a few days of manageable swelling. Sedation is available either way.
Usually yes. With six implants achieving good initial stability, a fixed provisional bridge is attached on the day of surgery, you leave with teeth, exactly as with All-on-4.
It can be longer, carrying more back teeth, because the load is spread across more anchors. Materials and construction are otherwise the same, with acrylic provisionals and a stronger definitive bridge at the end.
This is where six shines: the bridge typically continues functioning on the remaining five while the site is repaired and a replacement placed. Redundancy is a core reason some patients choose six.
For almost all bruxists, yes, combined with a night guard to protect the bridge surface. Severe cases are identified at consultation and the bridge material is chosen accordingly.
