Dental Implants Before & After: Every Treatment, Explained

Single Tooth Implant Before & After

After: single tooth implant result

BeforeAfter

The most common transformation in the clinic and the quietest on camera: one gap, one failing root or one exhausted crown, replaced by a tooth that photographs identically to its neighbours. That invisibility is the entire point, and it’s engineered in three places: the implant depth, the gum shaping and the crown’s shade-matching.

  • In the before: a gap, a darkened dying tooth, or an old crown with a grey gum line
  • In the after: a crown matched by shade, shape and edge translucency, the implant is the one nobody can find
  • Timeline between frames: ~1 hour placement, 8–12 weeks healing, final crown fitted
  • From £2,100 fixed, £175/month on 12-month 0% finance

Front Tooth Implant Before & After

Front teeth are treated as their own discipline here: gum contour, custom temporaries and ceramist-built crowns, planned around how your lip actually moves.

  • Check the gum: it should arch over the new tooth exactly as it does over the neighbour, symmetry is the tell
  • Check the edge: real enamel has translucency at the biting edge; excellent ceramics reproduce it
  • Check for shadows: no grey line at the gum, correct implant depth carries colour all the way down
  • Provisional from day one, you’re never seen without a front tooth

Multiple Teeth Implants Before & After

Several missing teeth compound quietly: neighbours drift into the gap, the cheek loses support, chewing migrates to the other side. The after corrects all three at once, and usually with fewer implants than teeth, because good engineering carries three teeth on two implants.

  • In the before: the gap plus its side-effects, tilting neighbours and a flattening cheek line
  • In the after: the span restored in natural arch alignment, bite meeting evenly on both sides
  • Fewer implants than teeth: 2 implants → 3–4 teeth is routine, which is why per-tooth cost drops
  • Price on consultation, confirmed after your free 3D scan

Implant-Retained Bridge Before & After

The before that brings many patients here is a failing traditional bridge, one that was built by grinding down two healthy teeth, which are now failing too. The implant-retained after breaks that cycle permanently: the new span stands on implants, and every remaining natural tooth is left alone.

  • In the before: an old tooth-borne bridge failing, often taking its anchor teeth with it
  • In the after: a fixed span carried entirely by implants, zero healthy teeth sacrificed
  • Cleanable underneath: healthy pink gum beneath the span, reachable with a water flosser
  • From £4,500, spans of 3–6 teeth engineered per case

All-on-4 Before & After

After: all-on-4 result
Before: all-on-4 case
BeforeAfter

The most-searched implant transformation on the internet: a whole failing arch replaced with fixed teeth on four implants, provisional teeth usually fitted the same day as surgery. The before often shows years of managed decline; the after shows a single coordinated decision.

  • In the before: loose, worn or absent teeth, frequently hidden behind a denture for years
  • In the after: a full fixed arch meeting the gum naturally, no dark junctions, no denture plate
  • Same-day teeth: walk in with failing teeth, walk out with a fixed provisional bridge
  • From £9,000 per arch including extractions, provisional and final bridge

All-on-6 Before & After

Visually similar to All-on-4 in the after photo, the difference lives in the engineering you can’t see. Six implants spread the bite load further, suit heavier bites and longer arches, and give the final bridge extra redundancy for the decades ahead.

  • In the before: the same failing arch, often a patient with a strong bite or wider jaw
  • In the after: a fuller arch of teeth, frequently extending further back for complete chewing
  • Why six: load spread across more anchors, the choice is made on your scan, not upsell
  • From £13,000 per arch, the scan decides between 4 and 6, honestly

Full Mouth Dental Implants Before & After

BeforeAfter

The most dramatic pair on any gallery, because the before isn’t just teeth, it’s the collapsed bite, shortened lower face and unsupported lips that follow them. The after restores facial height and lip support along with the smile, because both arches are designed together as a matched pair.

  • In the before: failing teeth in both jaws, collapsed bite height, the ‘sunken’ look
  • In the after: facial proportions restored, the change people describe as looking years younger
  • One plan, both arches: upper and lower engineered to meet correctly everywhere
  • From £16,000 both arches, one fixed written price

Same-Day Implants Before & After

The unique thing about this before-and-after: the two photos can be taken on the same date. Extraction, implant placement and a fixed provisional tooth or bridge in one visit, the months of healing still happen, but they happen behind teeth instead of behind a gap.

  • In the before (morning): a broken or condemned tooth, or a failing arch
  • In the after (afternoon): a fixed provisional in place, no gap, no denture, ever
  • The honest asterisk: final teeth still come at 3–6 months; the same-day teeth are engineered temporaries
  • From £4,000, same-day single implant

Implant-Retained Dentures Before & After

BeforeAfter

The photo pair changes least here, a presentable denture before, a similar-looking denture after, and the life changes most. What the after photo can’t show: the denture now clicks onto implants, the adhesive is in the bin, and the menu has apples on it again.

  • In the before: a loose denture managed daily, adhesive, careful bites, a hovering hand
  • In the after: the same confident smile, now anchored on 2–4 implants with locator clips
  • The real transformation: chewing force, tested on the foods patients mention most, steak, apples, corn
  • From £5,000 for a lower denture stabilised on two implants

Bone Grafting Before & After

The invisible before-and-after that makes many of the others possible. Nothing changes in the smile photo, the transformation is on the X-ray: an extraction socket rebuilt into solid foundation, protecting your future implant option before any bone is lost.

  • In the before (scan): an empty extraction socket at risk of losing bone width and height
  • In the after (scan): regenerated bone, measured in millimetres, ready to hold titanium
  • The wait: grafts mature over 3-6 months, the patience that makes the final photo possible
  • From £480 socket preservation

What happens between the before and the after

The scan & plan

Free CBCT 3D scan maps bone, nerves and sinuses; every implant is positioned digitally first. You leave with a fixed written price.

Placement day

An hour for a single implant; a morning for a full arch, under local anaesthetic or sedation, often with same-day provisional teeth.

The quiet months

Osseointegration: bone fusing to titanium over 8–12 weeks. No gallery shows this stage, but it’s where the after photo is built.

The final fit

Permanent crowns or bridges, matched and adjusted until the bite is right. The after photo is taken; aftercare reviews begin.

At your consultation we’ll show you a larger private gallery, matched to cases similar to yours.

Before & after questions

What people ask about these photos

The ‘after’ arrives in stages: your smile is often restored the same day with a provisional tooth or bridge, but the final result, the permanent crown or bridge photographed on this page, is fitted once the implant has fused with the bone, typically at 3–6 months. Gums continue refining around the new teeth for a few weeks after that.

Your result depends on your starting point, bone volume, gum health, how many teeth are involved, which is why we plan from a 3D scan rather than promise from photographs. At your free consultation we show you before-and-afters of patients who started where you’re starting.

Typically four to six over three to six months: consultation and scan, implant placement (often with same-day provisional teeth), one or two healing reviews, final fitting, and a completion review. Single implants sit at the lower end; full-mouth cases at the upper.
